During Parent’s Weekend, members competed in a 3v3 basketball tournament with members of their families. The members then took their parents to Beta Epsilon’s annual Pearl Banquet. Food was shared and many awards were given for various reasons. Later that night, the chapter and their parents attended the Lady Techsters’ game against their rivals, Fresno State. This game was also Greek Night, where the Spirit Cup was awarded to the sorority with the most spirit for the Lady Techsters. Beta Epsilon was ecstatic to take home this award for the 4th year in a row! During parent’s weekend, Beta Epsilon was lucky enough to be graced by the presence of the National President of Sigma Kappa, Laura Owsley! Owsley took part in all of the events with the sisters of Beta Epsilon and was happy to visit Ruston one last time before the end of her term as National President.
In honor of Mardi Gras, members visited Princeton Place nursing home to help work and make this party, one for the books. Members plan to go back next month for another holiday party to socialize and decorate.
In other news, Beta Epsilon congratulates sister Taylor Graham, because she was chosen to be one of the Tech Orientation Student Leaders for this year!
All in all, Sigma Kappa at Tech is looking forward to warmer weather of the upcoming spring months!
