Congratulations Sigma Kappa

The Beta Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Kappa has many members to congratulate as this fall quarter comes to a close. Beginning with the week of October 23‐29 Sigma Kappa was proud to have President, Mollie‐Catherine Smith, represent them as well as her multiple other campus organizations, on the 2011 Louisiana Tech Homecoming court. Throughout the week fellow sisters showed their support for Mollie‐Catherine by cheering for her at many different Homecoming activities. On November 5 Sigma Kappa initiated 41 new members, giving the chapter a 100% initiation rate for this year. This day for the 41 new Sigma Kappa sisters was one that they will never forget. Initiation day is full with special meaning for each girl and congratulations and support is shown from every older member as the new initiates begin their journey as a Sigma Kappa. Along with having a member on homecoming court and new sisters joining the family, Sigma Kappa also was very excited to have two members participate in the 2012 Miss Louisiana Tech Pageant, Lauren Vizza and Mallory Cox. Both girls worked very hard to prepare for the pageant and were shown unlimited encouragement and love from their sisters throughout the entire process. The 2012 Miss Louisiana Tech Pageant was held on November 10 and by the end of the night, Sigma Kappa member Lauren Vizza was crowned Miss Louisiana Tech 2012 and Mallory Cox was awarded first‐runner up. Both of these ladies represented Sigma Kappa flawlessly and did an excellent job on the pageant stage. As the winter quarter draws near, it is exciting to see what ways these Sigma Kappa ladies will shine next.
